2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Release Date - Every 2014 Corvette now features an aluminum frame, not just the models higher-performance. Instead of two uniformly thick, hydroformed rails, wqzxc the chassis is now made up of five parts using hydroformed aluminum, cast aluminum, and aluminum extrusion, with each section adapted to the purpose in strength and stiffness. The result is a 99 pound weight loss with a 57 percent increase in stiffness. That's 60 percent more rigid than the Z06's with removable roof C7 in place, and 20 percent more rigid with the roof off. Curb weight should be about the same after accounting for other changes.

It upstream wheels have been upgraded as well. At the front end of the car today, wqzxc Corvette Racing finding consistent failure points in the mounts for the steering system. 2014 C7 steering system has been installed and upgraded hardware, and support structures now, according to Chevrolet, 500 percent stiffer. New electric power steering has a variable ratio and variable resistance to every situation.

Chevrolet took to the track for the interior designers show them how functional the new interior needed to be, and it shows. Two seating options, GT or Sport Competition, wqzxc has a more substantial support and rigid frame, and the latter has more to bolster the real track duty. They even heated and cooled. In front of them, new Chevrolet's smallest steering wheel has been made, and the screen frame can be adjusted 8-inch with three default modes: Touring, with nav, radio, telephone, and other information; Sport, with a large tach and gauge performance, and Track, borrowed from race cars with onboard linear tach and the data are detailed. On it, an available full color, hi-res, reconfigurable head-up display on the windshield put the data as well.

Exterior, a radical new bodywork is the jet-inspired and race-tested. Each scoop and vents that you see is functional, many borrowed from Corvette Racing. Hood vents, wqzxc for example, about one-third of the flow channel from now forward-sloping radiator of the car. It helps to reduce underbody lift so much that the new Z51 has less lift than the current ZR1. Similarly, borrowed from the C6.R is the scoop on the hamstrings. Each functional and coolant feed, for transmission on the driver's side and passenger for the differential (Z51 only) with hot air released through vents outboard of the rear lights and a diffuser in the rear. Cooling the front brakes are from a single center grille (good for the drag), while the rear brakes take cold air from under the car, right in front of the rear wheels.

Standard carbon fiber roof has a deeper channel to attract more air over the car and go down to the functional rear spoiler, wqzxc which extends the width of the window in the base car and the full width of the body on the Z51. A new rear hatch that extends all the way to the tail of the plane to help comply with bodywork all the way to the spoiler, racing another trick. Newly opened hatch around the quarter window (the first in the 'Vette since C1) and wide enough for a standard removable roof for storage underneath.

Prices have not been announced, but Chevrolet says if you can afford the time, you will be able to afford a new one. Hoping to get your chance to do so in the third quarter of 2013.
